I like horror movies and games. This is quite fun! It is really scary when I try to imagine myself in the situation of the main character of the game... well, you perfectly conveyed that atmosphere, bravo!

[GOOD:]
I like your artwork a lot. I mean the artwork in this flash.
[BAD:]
I dislike your presentation style. Using text to flash through is kinda laggy. Drags the story. At least if you need them, reduce the textual presentation a bit. The sound was also obtained from the real series, but hey that can't be helped. There's an error too. Shinigami do not destroy hollows. They cut their heads and the hollows get cleansed of the evil. Their cleansed souls go to soul society. The Quincies destroy hollows instead. You need to read up on Bleach...
[My rating: 2 stars]
PS: You've got talent. Keep it up!

[GOOD:]
It was cool, your drawing skills are really good. I like how you did the animation.
[BAD:]
However. The sound was obtained from the series. The whole scene idea was taken from the series. In terms of originality you lose some points... I might as well go watch the real series.
[SUGGESTION:]
With your cool skills, come up with a shinigami story of your own, make a bleach doujin(parody/alternate story by fan) instead and then submit it to newgrounds. Story would be original. And THAT would be really cool.

When the badguys come in a bunch, it gets quite hard... Actually a flaw but I just find it a little stressful. When I get the hang out of it, it'll be OK. And you need to fix the loading. I'll tell you how.
[GOOD:]
It reminds me of one of my games and also Megaman X series. That's cool. The 3D is also cool. You used my first AG preloader and that's cool too!
[My rating: 4 stars. Wooo!]
Fixing the loading:
I believe that loading problem is caused by a lot of stuff (usually those symbols that you define for linkage export) being loaded in the first frame. Those stuff blocks off the loading page because in order for the preloader to come out, everything in the first frame (80% of the game) has to be displayed. You can try to test your movie in flash and open the bandwidth profiler thing. Check if the first frame that is to be loaded contains a high byte size.
If this is the case, the solution is to create an empty frame somewhere that WILL NOT be part of the game. Maybe in a new scene at the back. Insert all movie clips (with linkage) on the stage there. Then in the library, uncheck "Export in first frame" for all the movie clips that you just dragged on to the stage. This basically just asks flash not to load everything (that needs to be exported) on the first preloader frame and load it instead somewhere at the back.
I hope that is the case and solves your problem. Sorry for typing this in the review section but the author requested.

Author's Response:
Yeah, I tried that; I made a new frame in the back, added a clip, and a music file, and unchecked both; neither showed up in the game afterwards. Not sure what I did wrong... if you could help, my email is cmahar@hotmail.com - get it in touch with me there.
Now for your comments:
The bad guys need to be fixed, and I have a way of doing that for BM2, I think. Some of them are just too tough: I mean, they aren't for me, but then, I've been playing this game essentially for a year. I think I need to take that more into account next time.
As for the graphics; yes, they suck at times. I'm not an artist, I'm a programmer. The few that are ok come from sprites that have been drawn over - if the main character reminds you of megaman, that's because his walk cycle was the basis for the animation. Hence, the credit to PMM in the credits.

Here I point out what I think are the bads and goods of your movie...
[BAD: ]
1. Maybe the simplicity of the graphics. Guys have pointed this out. But if that's because you didn't have enough time to do nice backgrounds, I totally understand. And even though they were simple, they were nice too!
2. The text in before the whole movie. Maybe you could have inserted some animation or still images around them... just my suggestion so that I can not only read the text but view some images of the 4 robots... etc
(just my ideas)
3. Some robot designs are a little too simple. But I like the Fire cyborg!
[GOOD:]
1. A hell lot of people seem to like it!
2. I bet you got an awesome score for this assignment.
3. Music was good and I think it suits the movie.
4. The animations (intro, text, credits, battle and all) was damn impressive.

Rock on!
Author's Response:
Thanks, I do agree with you on ever single bad aspect of this flash. Definately things I will be taking into consideration when I get around to doing this again! I actually had a lot more complex characters originally planned, but animating FBF with line tool is overly time consuming.. even if it does have very clean results with lines. So details like that would set me back quite a bit. Next time I will most probably use paint brush to get things done more effeciently. So yeah, I will totally redo the designs for the characters before the next one. =)

The bads and goods of your game, in my opinion.
[BAD:]
Well, if you'd like to know what I think the disadvantages of this game are, it's mainly the filesize. Don't get me wrong, the reason the filesize is small is to aid people who use dialup or extraordinarily slow college DSL (like me) to be able to enjoy it.
I DID enjoy it, but that's not how a lot NG voters will see it. They'll look at the filesize and say (this is crap) before really playing much and vote low, and in the process, limiting the potential (publicity wise) of your awesome game.
[GOOD:]
The filesize too. It's small, so I can painlessly load it. Thank you for that. And the gameplay was simple. I skipped all the instructions and was still able to play it! But I'm a natural and also a flash game maker, so it's no surprise.
And the multimedia presentation (menus and stuff), really awesome. I make these stuff myself and I'm no n00b, so take it from me, this game's super awesome.
Not mentioning names but in my opinion, this game should score higher than the other games submitted today. Maybe a daily first or a frontpage.
Final Note: I haven't played all levels but when I find the time, I'll... you know what, maybe I'll just save the file in my USB and bring it home to play it.

[BAD:]
Nothing's really bad, but I'd say the game's quite simple. And that really ain't a bad thing too...
[GOOD:]
Hey, that was a good game. I mean it. I can't explain why but I like it a lot.
Note: It's similar to my bubble game but using a space ship instead. From a gondorian flash author to another, "This is a neat piece of work!"
I see that a lot are saying that it sucks, ah, I get that all the time. You can ignore them cause they don't make games, don't know the pain of doing it, and they say so probably because they can't beat the game or aren't smart enough to play it right. Bottomline is, this game doesn't suck at all. I'll be recommending it to friends if I have the chance.

I'm really glad you liked it! I'll go check out your game sometime today. I figure anything is going to get people who are opposed to it and want to see it burn. I think they are good for a laugh. Thanks for the review man!
