Hmmm I found the game hard to play. But I found the sprite animation well done!

thanks for the feedback josh! did you found any specific mechanic harder than other ?
Flash 8 nostalgia, and great effort helping others with Flash. Thumbs up.
Cheers, dude.
A nice retro-style game overall. But... there are 2 serious flaws.
1. Depth sort. I can see the nuns that are behind the fighter. That needs to be solved.
2. Needs a pause button. Maybe there is but I didn't see it... but... is there?
thanks for the tips! You're right, there is no pause button and i will definitely put one in. Cheers!
Not bad! Though I have a suggestion... have an output button to export the creation as jpg. That would really shake things up!
A good idea indeed! Will keep it in mind for future versions... it would be pretty cool allowing users to share their work too, through the API, just need to learn how to add them features. Thanks for commenting!
Cyber Devil! This is Flappy Bird that is relaxing instead of annoying. And the music... wow. Conclusion... I like it. Good job.
That's what I aimed for. :) Thanks!
The game itself is ok. No flaws in my opinion. Graphics are ok, music ok, gameplay ok.
What can be changed or improved in my opinion:
1. a more non-childish theme. the characters are really chibi mode or worse. The red characters is similar to a Japanese Daruma doll... Most games are like that now and not sayng it's bad, but really, I would have preferred more realistic-looking characters with real heads, necks and weapons. Really looks like something a 4-8 year-old kid would like. And when I was that age, I wouldn't even care to watch cartoons that look like that. I'd think that they were for girls or even younger children, and switch to stuff like ninja turtles and robocop and transformers. You know what I'm sayin? But maybe it's just me and some people like me and maybe the newer generation of people like this kind of stuff and design. If that is so, even then, this kind of theme would be suitable for non-violent games such as puzzle, adventure... but this game is clearly a Battle game and I was expecting something cool, and it turned out to be childish stuff... at least to me.
2. while gameplay is ok, there's not much to it. It's just clicking and clicking. If you are catching onto the point-and-click trend, well you've succeded, but to me it just feels meh.
But once again, the above points are just my opinions and feelings. That aside, you've made a solid game. I don't mind the ads at all, as I understand the hardship of flash game developers.
Thank you for your review. The Ungoy character was in fact inspired in a Daruma doll! Good job.
It's unfortunate that you don't like the theme, but it's our style and it's what defines us. We do have some people that like it, and they are not only kids. For more realistic themes there are lots of other options as well, so we are lucky that we don't have the need to please all interests.
Finally, we must point out that this is only a "prototype" (hence the name). We are working this concept to take it much further, and hopefully people like you will enjoy that game too.
Thanks again!
After staring at the screen for a long time, I will start to get really dizzy...
Trust me, I know ^_^ I went through about 100 versions of this thing so I've looked at it a ton :P~
The game is well-made but it has a great flaw in my opinion. During the initial levels, there's no challenge. I just need to follow and click. And then when it starts to rotate, I would have been in the higher levels where I have only a few seconds left, so it becomes near impossible not to lose out. So it's like too easy too easy too easy too easy... BAM... too hard. At least for me. I really believe the difficulty should increase gradually instead.
Thanks for your feedback! I tried to ease people in into the rotation but it's hard. As you say yourself there really isn't anything between rotating and not rotating, it does level up gradually and limits the rotation at the start - there's not much more I can do. Still, thanks for your review and playing the game!
Cool... Good work
[BAD: ]
When the badguys come in a bunch, it gets quite hard... Actually a flaw but I just find it a little stressful. When I get the hang out of it, it'll be OK. And you need to fix the loading. I'll tell you how.
[GOOD:]
It reminds me of one of my games and also Megaman X series. That's cool. The 3D is also cool. You used my first AG preloader and that's cool too!
[My rating: 4 stars. Wooo!]
Fixing the loading:
I believe that loading problem is caused by a lot of stuff (usually those symbols that you define for linkage export) being loaded in the first frame. Those stuff blocks off the loading page because in order for the preloader to come out, everything in the first frame (80% of the game) has to be displayed. You can try to test your movie in flash and open the bandwidth profiler thing. Check if the first frame that is to be loaded contains a high byte size.
If this is the case, the solution is to create an empty frame somewhere that WILL NOT be part of the game. Maybe in a new scene at the back. Insert all movie clips (with linkage) on the stage there. Then in the library, uncheck "Export in first frame" for all the movie clips that you just dragged on to the stage. This basically just asks flash not to load everything (that needs to be exported) on the first preloader frame and load it instead somewhere at the back.
I hope that is the case and solves your problem. Sorry for typing this in the review section but the author requested.

Yeah, I tried that; I made a new frame in the back, added a clip, and a music file, and unchecked both; neither showed up in the game afterwards. Not sure what I did wrong... if you could help, my email is cmahar@hotmail.com - get it in touch with me there.
Now for your comments:
The bad guys need to be fixed, and I have a way of doing that for BM2, I think. Some of them are just too tough: I mean, they aren't for me, but then, I've been playing this game essentially for a year. I think I need to take that more into account next time.
As for the graphics; yes, they suck at times. I'm not an artist, I'm a programmer. The few that are ok come from sprites that have been drawn over - if the main character reminds you of megaman, that's because his walk cycle was the basis for the animation. Hence, the credit to PMM in the credits.
Cool Stuff
[BAD:]
Nothing's really bad, but I'd say the game's quite simple. And that really ain't a bad thing too...
[GOOD:]
Hey, that was a good game. I mean it. I can't explain why but I like it a lot.
Note: It's similar to my bubble game but using a space ship instead. From a gondorian flash author to another, "This is a neat piece of work!"
I see that a lot are saying that it sucks, ah, I get that all the time. You can ignore them cause they don't make games, don't know the pain of doing it, and they say so probably because they can't beat the game or aren't smart enough to play it right. Bottomline is, this game doesn't suck at all. I'll be recommending it to friends if I have the chance.

I'm really glad you liked it! I'll go check out your game sometime today. I figure anything is going to get people who are opposed to it and want to see it burn. I think they are good for a laugh. Thanks for the review man!
